“A potash solution for Brazil’s Growing Potash Problem”
Projects

ThermoPotash, a new fertilizer component, is the resultant product of turning an insoluble potassium silicate into a highly effective slow release potash fertilizer. The process involves a simple heating of potash rich rock from Cerrado Verde with limestone acting as a flux.

Verde's research shows that ThermoPotash is an ideal fertilizer product for Brazil’s well drained, nutrient poor, acidic soils - a domestic alternative for a widely utilized agricultural necessity. Much of the research on ThermoPotash borrows from Brazil’s experience with ThermoPhosphate, another high quality fertilizer component that is widely used and accepted.

The Company will focus on developing a new product for the Brazilian market. The high costs of KCl and problems with its application have created a market environment where farmers are open to alternatives, and in some cases actively seeking non-salt potassium sources. The farmers of Brazil are predominantly sophisticated large corporate growers, quick to move to best practice. They are well equipped to change practices if presented with superior products and/or cost saving opportunities.
